My works lean on Chinese ink-and-wash traditions, yet are liberated in composition, technique and intention, with looser brush vocabulary and more dramatized presence. In our current ecological crisis, I feel compelled to explore human relationalities with nature. My depictions of sweeping landscapes and landscape-like scenes create a sense of blight, loss, and placeless-ness, to provoke reflection in our position within nature, and our relevance without.
